This project was completed while the family was holidaying in Italy for a month. We needed to inject a little more colour into the lives of the 2 younger children, so we started with a fabulous bunk bed incorporating a lower double bed so the family could curl up together for story time. Soft linen curtain fabric made the ideal choice for the black and white duvet covers (due to the extra wide width of the fabric). Vivid blues and greens were used on the walls and window finishes and a multicoloured rug ideal for games, finished the space. We extended colour into the play area, teaming a sunset orange chaise with the existing rich red carpet and straw yellow cushions.

We totally transformed their dining area, moving the more formal table outside, as the family spends every evening on their terrace eating and relaxing after dinner. This area, off the kitchen, became the homework and computer hub complete with sofa, all in soft hues. Painted custom bookcases were added coordinating with the painted tables giving enough room for the older and younger ones to be in the same space doing their own activities.

Their love of nature is reflected in the outdoor dining room décor with the greens and orange colours from the garden repeated in the fabric-covered cushions of the dining chairs and also the easy chairs. The stripes were also used further down the enormous outdoor space on an antique bench and wicker rocking chair.

While each room has a different function and feel it was important to marry all the areas together to create a fun but harmonized environment.
